One door lock is not working.
Mk5 golf drivers door not locking.
The drivers door won t lock using the key fob but if i use the blade it will lock fine.
A common problem is the latch itself or the wiring to the latch actuator.
If i lock then car using key fob and open the door the alarm goes off.
If the lock slowly started to lose power speed locking and locking or would stop working intermittently and start again the motor actuator is most likely to blame.
Any info would be much appreciated cheers.
You try and open the door at the same time as it tries to unlock.
All doors lock with the fob or door switch except passenger door.
The latch in the door has a micro switch that signals the drivers door module to turn on the interior lights and door ajar light.

I did find one post on the mk5 golf gti forum that looked hopeful though even though ours is a match not a gti and decided it was worth a try.
The light on the door switch no longer lights up.
One operates the central lock switch on the drivers door while the other tries to open the passenger door.
With the door closed push in on each door slightly and see if the light goes out.
You do need two people.
Some other details passenger door can be opened with the door handle just fine the door lock switch seems to work fine as it will lock the other 3 doors.
